The Mortgage Process – Step by Step

01 Initial Consultation

We discuss your circumstances, income and deposit to understand what options may be available.

02 Agreement in Principle

We obtain an Agreement in Principle to indicate how much you may be able to borrow, subject to full assessment.

03 Property Search

Once you know your budget, you can begin searching for a suitable property with confidence.

04 Mortgage Application

After your offer is accepted, we submit the full mortgage application to the lender.

05 Valuation and Mortgage Offer

The lender arranges a valuation of the property and reviews your application. If everything is satisfactory, a formal mortgage offer is issued.

06 Legal Work (Conveyancing)

Your solicitor carries out legal checks on the property, including searches, reviewing the contract and raising enquiries with the seller’s solicitor.

07 Exchange and Completion

Once the legal work is complete, contracts are exchanged and a completion date is agreed. On completion day, the mortgage funds are released, and you can collect the keys to your new home.
